I absolutely love garlic, don’t you? Whether you are a garlic lover or not, there’s nothing better than freshly baked garlic herby rolls. Soft, fluffy, buttery, and delicious. My family always enjoys a garlic roll (or two) whether at lunch or at dinner time. These are also pretty easy to make. Best served warm!

Ingredients

1 packet dry yeast

1/4 cup warm water

2 tbsp sugar

1/4 cup butter, melted

1 egg

1 cup warm milk

21/2 cups flour plus more for kneading

1 tsp salt

For Brushing: Mix 4-5 tbsp butter, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp mixed herbs.

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, add yeast, warm water, and sugar and set aside.
  2. When the yeast starts to foam, add the milk, butter, and egg.
  3. Add the flour and salt to the mixture and combine.
  4. Knead for 5-7 minutes, adding more flour if required.
  5. Cover the bowl and set it aside to rise in a warm place until double in size, about an hour.
  6. Once the dough is doubled, roll into small balls.
  7. Place on an oiled baking tray and set aside to rise again.
  8. While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes then brush with the butter, garlic, and herb mixture.
  10. Return to the oven for another 2-3 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
